Job Description

Position Summary:

The Business Development Executive is responsible for enhancing Arbor Scientia’s client portfolio by identifying new leads, managing business relationships, developing new business opportunities, and executing deals. The Business Development Executive makes recommendations to senior management on how to advance the opportunities available for Arbor Scientia. The Business Development Executive shall possess well-developed interpersonal communication, analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills. The Business Development Executive continually develops client relationships to increase Arbor Scientia’s sales.

Responsibilities and Principal Duties:

  • Develop new business revenue, working with Arbor Scientia’s senior leadership and business development team to identify potential prospects and target areas of opportunity
  • Work closely with the business development and content teams to develop sales tools and business development plans
  • Develop and refine a proposal writing process that is capable of industry benchmark turnaround times
  • Work closely with finance to develop project budgets that accompany our proposals
  • Assist in building relationships with current and new clientele
  • Evaluate, review, and propose full-service promotional medical education strategies for new clients. Collaborate with the project managers and content team to ensure consistency of program delivery
  • Interface and manage partner relationships to ensure efficient and effective programs that meet strategic initiatives and specific client challenges
  • Initiate the development of new business for Arbor Scientia via needs assessment calls and live presentations outlining the capabilities of Arbor Scientia’s focus to medical affairs, marketing, and sales training professionals within the pharmaceutical and biotech industry
  • Take responsibility for all negotiations, from initial client contact through client contract closing
  • Remain actively involved in projects from a high-level standpoint
  • Function as a liaison between clients and Arbor Scientia, troubleshooting any contract issues
  • Continually monitor and build on client relationships to further the scope of Arbor Scientia’s market penetration

Other Responsibilities

  • Work internally on assisting with special projects such as updating SOP documentation and templates; revising capabilities presentations to meet specific client needs
  • Identify and discusses potential client-facing BD tools

Job Demands:

  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout the United States, with a high level of activity in the East Coast area
  • Highly motivated with a strong desire to sell
  • Good understanding of neuroscience and/or scientific fundamentals of biological processes
  • Decisive, action-oriented work style; comfortable making decisions and recommendations in a highly-uncertain environment
