A committed Christian with hospitality management experience you'd love a role where you can combine both. You’re not looking for a job but rather a lifestyle, where you can use your skills and faith to contribute to the world. Join a Christian resort community acting as a spiritual sanctuary and training centre and offering holiday adventures.
On a practical note as Hospitality Manager you’ll own the guest experience, ensuring their stay runs smoothly. With 200 beds and a large commercial kitchen and dining room, you’ll oversee the accommodation and catering. You’ll manage a small team to ensure all guests receive a warm, friendly welcome and have a memorable stay. You’ll budget, roster, manage supplier relationships and logistics and improve hospitality processes.
On the spiritual side, you’ll be part of the leadership team and have pastoral duties, contributing overall to guests having a life-changing encounter with God. Living on-site as an integral part of the community, you’ll lend a hand wherever necessary providing support for others. You’ll help drive the mission of the community; to care for, transform and equip people, impacting people’s lives by sharing hospitality that welcomes all, renewing spiritual, emotional and physical well-being.
Established in your spirituality you can lead devotions or prayer. You’re able to embrace the spectrums of belief within the Christian faith and able to engage in conversation in a positive manner. Patient, loving, and open-minded you’re open to progressing on your spiritual journey. Flexibility and adaptability will enable you to live in a close-knit community. However, you also bring hospitality skills that include accommodation and catering, having worked in a hotel or resort would be ideal. Your excellent communication will help us run like a well-oiled machine and you’ll be able to drive improvements.
Orama Oasis is a dynamic, diverse Christian community based
on Great Barrier Island with a vibrant history of restoring and equipping
people for life’s journey. Every year more than 2500 visitors come to enjoy
adventure, a spiritual
retreat or a training school at Orama. We hold the tension of diversity amidst a
disposition to love - God, each other, our neighbours - all who come to
our door. We are committed to living
sustainably and in harmony with each other, the earth and the natural
environment and minimising the impact we make.
So, if you feel a calling to express an authentic
Christianity through community and have hospitality management experience to
support this and can imagine living on a sub-tropical island, let’s talk!
