Job Description

We are seeking a highly-motivated Project Manager for a full-time position managing commissioning projects throughout the San Francisco Bay Area or Sacramento.

Enovity’s commissioning solution for construction projects advocates for the owner throughout design, construction, acceptance, and operations. We take a “whole place” approach to commissioning: Project Managers draw upon a constellation of subject matter experts in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, controls, low-voltage systems, and indoor environmental quality (IEQ) to ensure that new facilities operate at peak performance from the first day of occupancy.  The position reports to the Division Director and will be based in our San Francisco office.

  • Lead and manage a portfolio of new construction commissioning projects
  • Ensure projects are executed and completed within their estimated budgets and timeline
  • Write and/or review owner’s project requirements (OPR) documents and review basis of design (BOD) documents
  • Write commissioning plans, commissioning specifications and commissioning reports
  • Assist in facilitating commissioning design reviews
  • Review and comment on contractor submittals
  • Assist in writing pre-functional and functional test scripts for a variety of building systems
  • Perform construction field inspections, witness pre-functional tests and TAB activities, and witness and/or perform functional performance tests of building systems
  • Lead and/or attend meetings, both Enovity internal meetings and external meetings with clients and contractors, and author meeting minutes where required
  • Manage clients involving regular communication
  • Communicate with other Enovity staff including Principals, Directors, Technical Managers, Engineers and Administration Staff
  • Attend interviews and present on your experience, commissioning processes and execution. Assist with commissioning scope and fee proposals
  • Ensure the technical quality, accuracy and managerial aspects of multiple projects
  • Oversee and manage timesheet entries for project staff. This will require the use of Deltek software
  • Plan project activities, update project forecasts, and maintain accurate records of project activities using Excel and Deltek
  • Write, review, and edit technical reports
  • Review and approve the office and field work of commissioning engineers assigned to your projects
  • Oversee project invoicing, forecasting and other administrative responsibilities
  • Train and mentor commissioning engineers
Required Qualifications
  • 5 – 10 years’ experience in the building design and/or construction industry; directly managing and executing commissioning projects with at least 10 projects having been completed from design, through construction and into building operations
  • Thorough knowledge of the commissioning process is mandatory
  • Certification in commissioning process management (CBCP, CPMP, CxA, or similar) preferred
  • Professional Engineer license preferred
  • Highly skilled in project and personnel management
  • Highly organized with excellent communication and writing skills
  • Responsive team player with ability to quickly prioritize among numerous pressing tasks
  • Exceptional computer skills in the operation and functioning of all programs used by the organization, i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; knowledge in Deltek Vision is a plus
