Job Description

Empower is seeking a skilled Senior Director, Analytics with experience in marketing, advertising, and/or media. The Senior Director will lead our Data & Analytics practice to provide regular analysis for our clients’ businesses and to use data to develop business and consumer insights. The focus is on optimizing media investment allocation, traditional and digital, through the appropriate key leading indicators and/or key performance indicators for each client. The Senior Director will also manage a team of three to five analysts/data scientists.

Key Responsibilities.
  1. Accountable for honing and building the craft of analytics for the agency:
    • Staying ahead of the curve on the latest tools and trends
    • Product ideation
    • Content curation/Thought leadership
    • Integration of the practice across the organization
    • Building a team: mentoring, coaching, career development and talent recruitment
  2. Analyze consumer response to media campaigns:
    • Leads and sales (or other conversion events) performance in relation to media spend by week across a wide range of dimensions
    • Identify best approach to compile and review data, with goal of bringing consistency across accounts wherever possible
    • Identify data visualization improvements to ensure dashboard can be used for analysis
  3. Coach the various media subject matter experts on how to analyze their own campaigns.
  4. Analyze weekly/monthly/quarterly reporting to help inform media optimizations:
    • Assess what’s working, what’s not; compare results of varying approaches
    • Set minimum/maximum recommended spend threshold levels by channel to be effective
    • Compile charts or visuals to effectively convey key findings to clients
    • Contribute to client presentations
  5. Ad-hoc analysis:
    • Regression and correlation analyses, projections/what-if scenarios, possible segmentation analysis
    • Support the account team to investigate why/where business fluctuations are occurring
    • Review client or vendor- provided data to distill actionable learnings, and share with client teams accordingly
  6. For tests/pilots – consult on test set up, measurement, build test reports & analyze data to help inform findings & next steps; help team identify control markets & determine statistical significance.
  7. Use data to generate insights around KPIs, competitive landscape, and customer trends.
Qualifications & Experience.
  • Superior quantitative skills
  • Statistical expertise; understanding which statistical test to use and when
  • Experience with predictive modeling methods, including multiple linear regression, logistic regression and/or structural equation modeling
  • Domain level experience for traditional and/or digital/programmatic media
  • Ability to manage multiple internal and external clients and competing priorities
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in math, statistics, economics, or other quantitative field
  • 7-10 years of experience in marketing analytics
  • Some travel is required (0-20%)
