Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Analyze and evaluate complementary and competitive products, technologies, and solutions.
  • Responsible for desktop and mobile clients for VMware Horizon.
  • Define customer needs and requirements in coordination with other product managers, product marketing, and business development teams. 
  • Leverage customer feedback as a key component of the product planning and roadmap. Work directly with customers and partners, leverage feedback as a key component of the product planning and roadmap.Analyze and evaluate complementary and competitive products, technologies, and solutions.
  • Develop an overall product strategy that takes advantage of VMware’s core technology, unique brand of virtualization, and market position and align End User Computing clients with the overall company goals and vision.Work with different partners like Microsoft, AWS, Google and product teams across VMware including vSphere, NSX, VSAN to socialize and share product requirements, product positioning, and customer value for VMware Horizon Cloud
  • Manage the product development process from inception to product delivery. Write PRDs, outline detailed customer use cases, and ensure the successful shipment of the product in multiple languages simultaneously.
  • Work closely with ecosystem engineering to review and define offerings on an ongoing basis to ensure that they meet the needs of VMware’s desktop partners and build a strong relationship with VMware thin client partners.
  • Work closely with business developmentR&D, pProduct Mmarketing, and ecosystem engineeringProgram Management to ensure product availability worldwide at major product launch.
  • * Write Reviewer’s Guides, White Papers, Competitive Analysis and other technically focused product marketing documents to aid in marketing VMware Horizon clients.
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales and partners to drive revenue opportunities.


  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience; MBA preferred
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent technical experience.
  • MA minimum of 5+ years of experience in product management or product marketing experience with a software company focused on cloud services, software as a service or infrastructure as a service
  • Ability to work equally well with with external partners and business development, product marketing, program management, support, and engineering to drive successful product releases.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write clearly and quickly to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience. Public speaking experience and comfort.
  • Strong understanding of the end user software for desktop or mobile greatly preferred.
  • Experience with PC OEMs or thin client partners greatly preferred.
  • Proven analytical skills and strategic thinking with an ability to translate technology into business benefits.
  • Possess a strong technical background, preferably with end user focused products.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical and strategic thinking skills and the ability to translate those skills into a proven track record in delivering successful products.
  • Strong leader, self-starter and proven team player in a high achievement-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated credibility with customers, partners, field sales and cross functional stakeholders
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
