Job Summary: The India Financial Shared Services Manager is accountable for the India shared services accounting operations, including the management of accounting staff, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records and controls designed to mitigate risk, and ensuring that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards. Responsibilities include: Oversee and manage the operations of the India Financial shared services Recruit, train and develop local accounting staff, working to achieve the department's goals and objectives Ensure the reconciliation of balance sheets and bank accounts and deliver summary reconciliation reports to the Corporate Accounting team Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual GAAP, statutory & Internal audits Complete transactions processing on daily basis according to department KPI's and SLA's (around Timeliness, & Accuracy). Develop, regularly review and report organizational performance metrics related to the entire Finance & Accounting work area, to communicate its efficiency and effectiveness Ensure quality control over financial transactions Act as the primary point of contact for India transactional financial activities by the shared services accounting team Coordinate directly with management in the Corporate Accounting team in the US regarding allocation of work, staff performance, accounting processes, system issues and requirements, etc. Work with other functions as necessary to resolve outstanding issues/discrepancies. Oversee the team's communications and interactions with Corporate Accounting team to ensure effective and appropriate communication occurs as required. Maintain team's work engagement by providing on-site guidance and timely identification and remediation of training gaps Research questions and issues as they arise; special projects as necessary Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls. Suggest updates and improvements for accounting processes Review and evaluate system tools and work flows to ensure a productive work environment while looking to enhance the degree of transaction automation to allow time for analytical efforts Responsible to maintain department's spending and budgets. Essential Skills & Experience Accounting/Management under Graduate/Post Graduate with Professional Qualifications like CA or CMA or MBA Relevant post qualification work-experience of 8-11 years mainly in BPO or Shared Services environment out of which atleast 2 - 4 years of experience should be in a shared service management role Significant knowledge of finance and accounting domain. Process knowledge across all F&A areas is required. In-depth understanding of the 'Procure to pay', 'Order to Cash' and 'Record to Report' value streams with relevant experience in management of end to end Accounts payable, Accounts receivable & General Accounting/reporting processes. Experience in and knowledge of U.S. GAAP Strong verbal and written communication skills Must be flexible, detail oriented Good Interpersonal skills & Experience in managing a team Workday experience highly desirable Good listener with analytical mind Strong exposure in creating a high performance-driven culture, employee engagement & customer centricity Adept in process mapping & documentation. Experienced in designing/redesigning optimal processes with necessary controls built in. Demonstrates working knowledge of MS-Office suite of software applications and tools, including: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project & MS-Outlook.
